Dr. Marjana Westergren joins Annals of Forest Science as a new associate editor

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Marjana Westergren to the Associate Editorial Board of Annals of Forest Science.

Previously, she worked as a Collaborator at Bioversity International (Rome, Italy).
She has been conducting applied research to support the conservation and sustainable use of forest genetic resources. Her work has focused on several topics in the general field of Evolutionary Biology, including the study of processes explaining the distribution of genetic diversity in forest trees, from gene flow to fine-scale spatial genetic structure using classical and new-generation population genetic and genomic approaches, in the field of ecological genetics and genomics of local adaptation as well as with developing a concept for forest genetic monitoring.

She has published over 50 scientific and applied papers and book chapters and is currently the coordinator of the Interreg Danube project REFOCuS, as well as coordinator of WP5 in H2020 project FORGENIUS, and Deputy Coordinator of IUFRO’s Division 2 (Physiology & Genetics) and Working Party 2.04.11 (Alpine Forest Genomics).
