Aaron Weiskittel

Aaron Weiskittel was hired in 2008. Prior to the University of Maine, he worked with Douglas-fir plantations of the Pacific Northwest as a student at Oregon State University and researcher with the Weyerhaeuser Company. His work has covered a broad spectrum of spatial scales ranging from individual conifer needles to large regional landscapes. The primary focus of his work on the development of applied quantitative tools for forest managers.
Since arriving in Maine, Aaron has been focused on developing a new growth and yield model for the Acadian Region, evaluating stem taper/volume equations, and exploring the potential influence of climate change on forest productivity.
