His domains of experience and expertise are fire ecology, tree mortality, fuel modeling, fuel management and prescribed fire, mainly applied to the Mediterranean pine communities. Very recently, he has been co-coordinating the European integrated project Fire Paradox (6\u00b0 PCRD, 2006-2010): An innovative approach of integrated wildfire fire management regulating the wildfire problem by the wise use of fire.
