Then, he focused on determining the causes of forest disease emergence in relation with global change, in particular recent evolution in climate and invasion. He mainly works on the following pathosystems: <em>Phytophthora alni<\/em>, <em>Chalara fraxinea<\/em>, oak powdery mildew,\u00a0 <em>Dothistroma<\/em> needle blight and <em>Diplodia<\/em> shoot blight of pines.<\/p>\n<p>He works in the research unit \u00ab Interactions arbres-microorganismes \u00bb, a joint unit between INRA, Centre Grand-Est Nancy and University of Lorraine in France.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, he contributed to Annals of Forest Science as an author with one article (<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1051\/forest:2006040\">Desprez-Loustau et al., 2006<\/a>) being in the top 10 of the most highly cited articles of the journal and two other articles (<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/s13595-015-0487-4\">Desprez-Loustau et al.,2016<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/s13595-012-0252-x\">Mar\u00e7ais et al., 2012<\/a>) in the top 10 of the most requested full-text articles in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Welcome!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Benoit Mar\u00e7ais did a PhD (1992) on epidemiology of Phytophthora cinnamomi, a fungus causing oak canker.
