This policy follows 7 main guidelines:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Open access to the information produced by publicly funded research programs is the general rule<\/strong> and every effort nateeds be devoted to that goal.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Inra commits to organise the management and valuation of the scientific information it produces<\/strong>; all publications from the institute will be vailable via the institutional portal <em><a href=\"http:\/\/prodinra.inra.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ProdInra<\/strong><\/a><\/em>,\u00a0 connected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/hal.archives-ouvertes.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>repository <em>HAL<\/em><\/strong><\/a>; similarly, data will be managed and data papers published whenever suitable; support to researchers will be provided<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/datapartage.inra.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on a dedicated portal<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">The <strong>inter-operability of all scientific information<\/strong> produced will be a major goal to ensure their re-use: all informations produced by Inra will follow international standards.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Open access to publications and data will conform to international rules and legal regulations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Assessment of the production of researchers and engineers <\/strong>of Inra will base only on the productions available within the ProdInra archive.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Inra warrants <strong>long term storage and protection of digital information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Costs for open access and long term storage<\/strong> of information will be covered by the <strong>research projects<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><strong>Annals of Forest Science<\/strong><\/em> contributes actively to this policy:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Papers published in the journal are <strong>made freely available on HAL<\/strong>, 12 months after their publication, with the active help of the <em><strong>Publisher Springer-Nature<\/strong><\/em>;<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Annals of Forest Science<\/em><\/strong> publishes data papers; the first <a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s13595-016-0571-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>examples are available online<\/strong><\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Annals of Forest Sciences<\/strong> <\/em>changes its data policy (see the next blog post ).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These important steps are in line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www6.inra.fr\/datapartage\/Media\/Fichier\/PolitiqueInra\/charteportrait\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charter, which text is available here in French<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inra (the French National Institute for Agricultural Research which owns Annals of Forest Science among a number of research journals) just released its &#8220;Charter for the open access to publications and data&#8221; which describes the policy the institute develops in support of open access.
